Here's to Carlos Delgado, now playing for the Florida Marlins. Last year he drew national criticism for not standing during the national anthem due to his opposition of the war in Iraq, especially during his team's trips to Yankee Stadium. And now he plans on continuing with this action, and is drawing more fire. But he's certainly gained one fan in me, even though his stance has nothing to do with politics - just morals.
"The reason why I didn't stand for God Bless America was because I didn't like the way they tied God Bless America and 9/11 to the war in Iraq in baseball."
"I say God bless America, God bless Miami, God bless Puerto Rico and all countries until there is peace in the world." My thoughts exactly.
