Wearing square pants cannot be comfortable...
Of course I've been overly annoyed by the Christian far-right's recent demonization of Mr. SpongeBob Squarepants (by the way, I absolutely love the photo caption in that story - obvoiusly the editor couldn't think of anything else to say).
One of the first reactions I had (other than pure outrage at the insanity of this world) was that another rather famous cartoon character is far more apt to bend traditional gender roles than SpongeBob. No, I'm not talking about TinkyWinky, as he/she/it isn't a cartoon. I'm talking about a man kissing, cross-dressing, ballerina dancing, gay-marrying cartoon character by the name of Bugs Bunny (see the evidence for yourself). Heck, he even sings showtunes.
