Million Dollar Baby Inspiration

If you've seen Million Dollar Baby, you know this is a moving picture with a gruesome ending that is quite difficult to watch.
According to the NY Times, most likely this story was based upon the life of Katie Dallam, whose story may be just as outrageous as the actual movie.
In 1996, Ms. Dallam was in so many ways that woman [from MDB] - a Missourian born into poverty who turned to boxing only to become disabled and suicidal after taking a savage beating in her first professional fight.
