Are the Bucks back? I've gotta admit, after the 'Big Three' (Allen, Robinson, Cassell) were disbanded and whisked away I pretty much gave up on the Bucks. A small flicker of hope was re-ignited when TJ Ford was drafted, but that faded after his persistent injuries. And then the Bucks lucked out with a lottery pick, and Andrew Bogut landed on our doorstep. So where does that leave us?
Their record is 2-0 so far in the young season after last night's defeat of the Nets - two road games and two come from behind victories over solid teams. The Nets, now owned in part by Jay-Z, have a solid roster - Richard Jefferson, Jason Kidd, Vince Carter...not exactly a bad team.
Signs look good so far. Michael Redd has scored 30 and 41 points in the back-to-back games. TJ Ford has dished loads of assists and scored at ease in the paint. And young Andrew Bogut in last night's game had 17 rebounds and 10 points. Add in big Bobby Simmons (from Clippertown). Not too shabby.
I am hessitant to say the Bucks will do really well this year. I think they have an honest shot at the playoffs. With the way I feel about philadelphia sporting teams these days, as long as wisconsin teams can beat them every game, I will be happy.
Oh, and I forgot that the Bucks also have All-Star Jamaal Magloire on their roster.
And wait a minute, now how in the hell did we get stuck with Ervin Johnson again? I thought we already did our time!
But I've gotta say, I still like the roster a whole lot more than last year, and I'm also excited to see what Charlie Bell & Reece Gaines will do in the future.
