Here's a great oral history of the band that made Milwaukee famous (no, not that band) with the hip kids throughout the late 90s. It's even got two videos to watch, too. A very, very interesting read for those of you that loved Nothing Feels Good and loved to hate (or conversely, hated to love) Wood/Water. (Me? Loved it. A true pop masterpiece).
And oh yeah, remember how the word "emo" exploded in 2002? Thank them, they started it all. Not to mention the whole ironic 1980s t-shirt thing, too. They were wearingthem back in '97, not 2005. That's right kids, haute couture starts in Milwaukee, not Milan/Paris/Williamsburg.

Want to find the next big thing from Milwaukee? Want to find out if all people from Oconto act like idiots? Come see Phil and Fear of Water, making their Madison debut this Thursday night at the Great Dane (10pm, no cover). I'll be there, probably with a beer in one hand and a pool cue in the other.
