News from the Miami Herald is that FOX is set to cancel a whole bunch of "seasoned" comedies.
Malcolm in the Middle and That '70s Show, a pair of sitcoms with 15 seasons between them, will leave the air after their season finales in mid-May, Fox programming chief Peter Liguori said. ... Two other sitcoms, the animated King of the Hill and The Bernie Mac Show, are also in jeopardy of cancellation, Liguori said, and added that ''it is highly unlikely'' that the comedy Arrested Development will return to the network after the final four episodes of the season air in February.
Wow. So FOX's comedic lineup now is...um...The Simpsons. Unless, of course, you count American Idol or 24. (Note: yes, yes, that was a joke - I do know that Family Guy and American Dad are still on, and yes, they are hilarious)
Sadly, I have also learned that my favorite show, The West Wing, will be cancelled after this season...opening up more room in the schedule for "Tony Nocholino, who plays, as you know, Latino cut-up 'Scooter' on the new hit comedy series 'What's the Difference?' airing between 'Recycled Junk' starring Lisa Campbell and 'Same Old Crap' featuring teen heartthrob Mark Swenson, all part of the great fall lineup on our network's 'Who gives a rat's ass?' Thursdays."...or more Law & Order spin-offs and crappy reality TV. BTW, Kill Your Television.
