Decisions...

Here's a question that is nearly as tough to figure out as the Ninja v. Pirate debate.

Where would you rather go?

Bonnaroo 2006, the semi-hippie festival near Nashville that has recently transformed itself into an indie rock mecca? Or Coachella 2006, the California festival that is always hot in temperature and hot in sweet musical appearances?

Exhibit A - partial list of Bonnaroo 2006 noteables:

Radiohead; Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers; Elvis Costello & the Imposters; Death Cab for Cutie; Bright Eyes; Ben Folds; Matisyahu; My Morning Jacket; Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; Andrew Bird;

Exhibit B - partial list of Coachella 2006 noteables:

Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, My Morning Jacket, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Walkmen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party, Scissor Sisters, Matisyahu, TV on the Radio, Sleater-Kinney, Wolf Parade, The Go! Team, Metric, Art Brut, Mates of State.

Simply due to the presence of Radiohead, Elvis Costello, Death Cab, Bright Eyes and Andrew Bird, I'm going to have to vote for Bonnaroo. Although, it is in rural Tennessee, where the number of shotguns and pickup trucks may outnumber teeth. And the presence of Franz and Bloc Party does certainly draw me to Coachella.

Agree?

And by the way, I think pirates will win despite their clear underdog status.

And, go watch BSS playing "7/4" on Conan last night. It's a treat. You'll never see that many people on stage at once until the London Philharmoic plays, or some ska band from the early 90s reunites. And who doesn't love Leslie Feist?
