Sweet Jeebus!
I just found a post on Cute Overload detailing MTV UK's HamTrak '06. That's right, hamster racing. With team names and custom cars. Sweet.
Unfortunately us Yankees can only see it on the interwebs. Why wouldn't MTV think it would catch on in the good ole U S of A? Heck, there's even a Wikipedia entry on the sport.
From Digital Spy:
A spokesman said: "Incorporating some of the biggest names on the speed-loving hamster circuit, Hamtrak `06 promises to be the highlight of this year's rodent racing calendar.
"For everyone that's ever owned a hamster, you'll know how much they love to race. MTV has decided to make them go pro, in what promises to be an all out action packed four-race tournament for the coveted Overdrive Cup."
Did I mention there's betting?
