I just discovered that a writer for the NY Times just used an interesting choice of words in a recent article on sunbathing in Paris.
Paris is proud of its spirit of exhibitionism, so the front-page newspaper headline last weekend that the city’s man-made beach was enforcing a ban on thongs and bare breasts came as a bit of a shock. ... The biggest security problem, said one private security agent, is “perverts and voyeurs,” who are turned over to the National Police. In most cases, indecent exposure can be resolved with a warning, and no one has been fined for scanty attire. ... This year, as in other years, the city trucked in 2,000 tons of sand and dozens of palm trees and transformed a two-mile stretch of the Seine into a beach. For the first time this year, the beach has expanded to the left bank of the river. ... Certainly, City Hall has dealt with bigger Paris-Plages-related problems this summer.
A small number of homeless people have pitched tents on the banks of the Seine close to the beach.
I have a feeling that these homeless weren't the only ones pitching tents near the beach.
"To stop women from wearing thongs, it’s just so outrageous," said Rafael Santos, a tanned and well-oiled Brazilian property manager whose tiny Speedo revealed part of his buttocks.
Hmmm, seeing as there were only two links, I wonder which one you were referring to...Hmmmm.
And I bet you were thankful tat you viewed it at home, because then you weren't rushed, and you could easily do a quick "Save As" onto your hard drive. Or at the very least, "set this image as wallpaper."
