Dirty Lies

Damn the right wing is good...at lying. Seriously, I was reading this post on ThinkProgress and all I could think was...damn! The post is about how Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) said Al Gore is "Full of Crap" and was attacking global warming:
Appearing on Glenn Beck’s radio show and CNN television program, Inhofe said that the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which concluded that global warming was real and caused by humans, used “one scientist.” Inhofe added: “[A]ll of the recent science...it confirms that I was right on this thing. This thing is a hoax.”

Then I read the rest of the post:
Actually, “all of the recent science” — without exception — accepts that global warming is real and caused by humans. The IPCC didn’t involve “one scientist.” It involved thousands of scientists from over 120 countries, including so-called “climate skeptics” and industry representatives. The National Academy of Sciences recently concluded that the one study singled out by Inhofe for criticism, which was authored by Michael Mann, “has subsequently been supported by an array of evidence.”

And I keep thinking that damn, the right wing is good at lying. All they have to do is say one think like "[Global warming] is a hoax" or "[Embryonic stem cell research makes early human life into] spare parts", and we have to spend an hour explaining how that is not true and here are the facts, etc. For people that are not sure on these or other issues, they hear the Republican one line, sound bite and they understand. They hear the Dem's "Truth" and it just doesn't have the same affect. Blame it on stupidity or laziness, but people don't hear the full argument, and even when they do hear both sides, they still have doubt because of the Republicans' mis-truths, misrepresentation, deception, and out-and-out lies.

I would think that ethically Republicans must be getting fed up with Bush and the Neocon lies.
