Hmmm, what would I rather be doing? Attending law school, or going to San Francisco's 15th Annual Noise Pop Festival? (I realize that the far bigger drawing SXSW would be even better, but there isn't much debate there.)
The opening night party of this year's Noise Pop festival also boasts one of the most exciting bills of the week, featuring comedian David Cross ("Mr. Show," "Arrested Development"), blog superstars Tapes 'N Tapes, plus a punk-rock marching band and sleazy electro-clash act that looks a bit like Ron Jeremy and has a propensity for performing in the nude (Har Mar!).
Some other interesting performing acts include: the Watson Twins, Sebadoh, John Vanderslice, Damien Jurado, Alexi Murdoch, French Kicks, The Donnas, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, The Dandy Warhols, the New Amsterdams, Vic Chesnutt, Clinic, Earlimart, The Spinto Band, Cake, Midlake, The Dwarves, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Posehn.
